More Progress!

I have just finished the closing words of The Declaration of Independence on the first sample panel for The Americana Stars Memorial. It felt so good to see it and I am looking forward to doing more when the time comes. I had to place the words a little higher up than I had planned with the basting, but I didn't go far enough. That's the great thing about basting - you can make changes before all of the future frogging drives you nuts!

I will have to place the stars a little lower and rebaste the lines from left to right. But the fabric has plenty of planning room, since it is still 48" wide and 2 yards long.

Meanwhile, I have been investigating more blogs with project tutorials so I can decide what to make for my second ornament challenge. It will be another star, but in colors for March. After all, I am the Star Lady of NY!

There certainly are alot of talented people out there in the internet world. I found wonderful lessons for a needlecase at Ink Circles and for scissor fobs at Annette's Acre.

I would like to make a fob of some kind for my cell phone. Right now I have a ribbon tied to it so I can pull it out of my pocketbook quickly when I get a call. But I would like to make something more substantial, but small (so it doesn't take up alot of space - small pocketbook. : )) My first phone had a little notch opening for a cord, but my current phone doesn't.

Oh well, the little problems of a big city girl. I'll just deal!

See you later! Thanks for reading!
